Meet the team at Goodwin & Laurie

Marcus Goodwin

I started the business in April 2010, acquiring a small block of fees and growing the business from there.

I qualified almost 25 years ago.  My role is varied, part of which is speaking to and meeting clients to help them through their various goals and also issues as well as managing the team.

Generally all things accountancy and taxation are my domain, looking after small to medium sized clients.

Outside of work i like to walk, cycle and go on holiday.

Alicia Jardine Laurie

Alicia is currently away from the business on a sabbatical in Australia with her family’

Charlotte Hewer

I joined in August 2015 as an apprentice accounts assistant.  

I have since completed AAT level 2 3 and 4 and currently studying towards ACCA in which I took a break to start a family. I complete VAT returns, year-end accounts and assist clients with cloud accounting.

Outside of work I love to spend time with my young family and going on holiday

Tom Eshelby

Joined in the summer of 2021, my role as an accounts assistant is to complete VAT return, tax returns and end of year accounts for clients.  

I am continuing to learn at college as I am currently studying AAT, as an apprentice.  

Outside of work, I enjoy watching sports, including football, a variety of motorsports and boxing

Sue Goodwin

After working in Customer Service for 30 years I joined the company in 2016.  

I am responsible for payroll and administration, including engagement letters and AML procedures.

Interests include family, travel, sport, reading and eating out.

New digital markets competition regime now in force

Last week, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) set out its initial plans for the new digital markets competition regime. The regime is designed to support the UK’s tech sector and has its legal footing in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act. The Act received royal assent in May 2024 but came into force on 1 January 2025.
